Burberry’s Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection – The Bloomsbury Girls, takes creative inspiration from Charleston, the country home of the Bloomsbury Group (a collective of writers, painters, and intellectuals).
The show included a variety of whimsical, unique fabrics like hand-painted leather, embroidered tulle lace, and embroidered shearling. Tea dresses, trench coats, scarves, ponchos, and blanket coats were layered to create wild, yet poised looks, composed of dreamy colours like cameo pink, antique rose, ink blue, and bright olive.
To emphasize the collection, eyes were painted with a wash of damson and antique rose, lips were tulip pink, and nails were deep elderberry. Besides A-list models like Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne, the stars of the show were the hand-painted bags that were decorated with rug motifs, textiles, and embellishments.
