Do you ever look at someone and say “Is there anything he/she can’t do!?” That’s how I feel about Gwyneth Paltrow. I admire her talent, creativity, success, style, and most of all, the empire she has created. While I’m often sceptical of celebrity-endorsed products, I purchased her most recent cookbook the day that it hit stores because it follows my clean eating diet (no diary, sugar, or gluten) and with so many limitations, I practically cried tears of joy when she released a cookbook that was Kendra-friendly.
I can honestly say that I’ve never had a cookbook that I’ve been so in love with. I’m literally cooking (and eating) my way from cover to cover and have cooked more recipes from It’s All Good than I have in my entire cookbook collection. All recipes in the book are gluten and sugar-free, and many of the recipes feature modifications to make the recipes vegan, dairy free, or vegetarian. The best part? There’s so much flavour and the recipes aren’t fussy. From breakfast to dessert, each recipe contains minimal, whole ingredients that are healthy and tasty – honestly. I’ve given this book to four friends on four separate occasions, and it’s not just because I couldn’t come up with a better gift idea. It’s because it’s that good (I hope the cashier at Chapters that seems to ring me through every time is reading this).
I started listing my favourite recipes, but it quickly turned into what looks like the index of the cookbook, so here are my favourite five:
1. Carrots with Black Sesame + Ginger
2. Mr. Chow-Style Minced Chicken with Lettuce Leaves
3. Super-Crispy Roast Chicken
4. Mango + Avocado Salad with Balsamic-Lime Vinaigrette
5. Banana “Ice Cream” with Sweet-And-Salty Roasted Almonds
It’s important to note that this review isn’t sponsored in any way by Gwyneth Paltrow (hey, girl!), clean eating, or even that teacher you had in elementary school that told you to eat all your vegetables. I’m sharing my opinions on it because I have got so much joy out of It’s All Good, that I feel like I needed to tell everyone that it really is all good. Whether you’re looking to try something new or are committing to eating clean, bon appétit!
