Growing up in Ontario, I have a strong dislike and special hatred for oversized, soggy, heavy winter boots. Just thinking about them makes me cringe, so I’ll be the first to admit that I’m more than a little picky when it comes to fall/winter footwear.
If you’re a resident of Canada (and especially Vancouver), owning at least one pair of rain(or snow)-friendly boots is a must. But as I get older, I find it more and more challenging to find practical boots that don’t look they came out of the children’s section, aren’t clunky, are flattering, and most importantly, keep my feet dry. I finally found my dream rubber boots (check them out here – think matte Chelsea rain boots!), so naturally my next focus was to find a pair of warm, comfortable boots for walking around Vancouver in the fall (side note: it’s fall now! How did this happen!?).
For lightweight boots, Palladium has provided time and time again for me (check out my hot pink Palladiums here). The Pallabrouse has a funny name, but these boots don’t kid around; I love the puffy texture, matte black fabric, and lightweight design. They are basically a sophisticated, practical Vancouver fall boot and nothing about them feels childish, uncomfortable, heavy, or oversized. Up next? The quintessential wool coat.
