Just like fashion and beauty, home décor is constantly changing and is influenced by an array of trends: colours, materials, shapes, textures, and patterns are just a few design characteristics that can help turn a house into a home.
Although Autumn/Winter 2013 may feel like a world away, it’s approaching quickly and bringing with it new influences and design ideas for the home. To showcase some of the fresh inspiration from around the world, HomeSense designed six rooms to feature some of their upcoming product and bring the AW13 trends to life. Each room emits a unique style; all items are priced at 20-60% off the specialty store price, and some are even the result of collaborations with vendors that you won’t find elsewhere.
To create a room that looks like a million bucks, HomeSense used gold accessories like gold framed mirrors, delicate trinkets, and Italian gold leafed art. Instead of incorporating a wide range of colours, they diversified the room by combining items with varying shades and textures of gold.
This room combines a modern rug, bone trays and accessories, heavy burnout velvet curtains, and flecks of Scandinavian influence to create an updated version of a traditional room.
Dinner never looked better among settee seating, modern and traditional dining chairs, chandeliers, and gold cutlery.
Lap of Luxury
In addition to their wide range of gift categories, holiday 2013 will bring a luxury gift program to 15 HomeSense stores across Canada. The program will launch five weeks before Christmas and will carry luxury gifts like gourmet food, blankets and throws, men’s grooming tools, candles, Italian reed diffusers, and coffee table books.
Classic, sleek, and refined, this room is primarily black and white with gold and emerald accents. Intaglio art, coffee table books, stacking boxes, and sparkling glassware add elegant details and sophisticated style.
Work the day away in this perfectly organized home office. Textured baskets and glass display boxes organize office essentials, while a larger than life inspiration board fosters innovation and encourages creativity.
