It’s no secret that I love fitness, so when the Gap invited me to do a little early morning yoga in GapFit at their Robson St. store, my exact RSVP response was “Heck yes! Yoga is my jam”. I know that I sound like a total Vancouver cliché, but it’s really true.

At first, yoga intimated me; I had no idea what chaturanga or chair pose was, so I stayed as far away from it as possible – until the hardest year of my life hit me like a tonne of bricks. I’ll spare you the gory details, but I turned to yoga and fitness to help me get through the trying times that are unfortunately almost guaranteed in life – and it was exactly what I needed. Since then, fitness has become an essential and pivotal part of my daily life; there was a time when I was doing yoga every day, but I now intersperse yoga in my regular fitness routine to keep me grounded (and as bendy as possible – I’m so not flexible).

Vancouver’s own Cam Lee Yoga lead our early morning sweat session in GapFit spring essentials (sports bras, tanks, and pants).  I love the tropical vibrant prints, breathable materials (the Breathe Tie-Back tank is so soft and comfortable!), and affordable prices.  But these aren’t fitness separates made solely for yoga; I wore them last weekend during a Sunday training session and they stood up to kettlebells, TRX Bands, deadlifts, and way too many burpees (for the record, one burpee is way too many in my books).
