Yes, you read that right. In the basement of a small thrift store in Naniamo, BC, I discovered this vintage Gucci clutch. The thrifting Gods were looking down on me as I dug through boxes of random items: water jugs, puzzle pieces, a single baby shoe, VHS tapes, and this gorgeous clutch made by the Italian luxury brand.
And it gets better: I wasn’t at a typical thrift store. To save on time and money, all items are thrown into boxes and are not individually priced. If you discover an item you would like to purchase, the price is negotiable and an estimate is given to you when you bring it up to the counter. I was so excited about my find that I was reluctant to hand it over, but was glad I did when I received the price: 25 cents.
Finding luxury items at thrift stores is not something that happens often, but the more you search, the better chances you’ll have of finding something special. It’s a game of numbers combined with a little luck, and my lucky number just so happens to be 25 (cents).
