Banana Republic and Michelle Smith, founder and designer of Milly, are collaborating on a limited-edition Summer 2013 capsule collection. Inspired by the Hamptons, the collection features both men’s and women’s apparel. The capsule launches online and at select Banana Republic retail locations worldwide in late May 2013.
The collection is expected to be a harmonious combination between Banana Republic’s classic style and Milly’s signature vintage-inspired prints and patterns (think feminine silhouettes, splashes of neon, and tailored separates).
“We wanted to focus on the vibrant colours and optimistic patterns that highlight the inspiring, fun-loving summer season,” says Banana Republic Creative Director and Executive Vice President of Design, Simon Kneen. “Michelle’s keen sense of colour, print and pattern are the perfect complement to Banana Republic, and her Hamptons-chic style is a new take on aspirational summer dressing for our consumers.”
The more than 60-piece collection features six popular Milly prints, updated specifically for the capsule collection. Women’s pieces include maxi dresses, mini-skirts, shorts, poolside totes, and summer scarves. Men’s pieces include striped and patterned separates, bright polos, woven tees, and shorts.
Apparel prices range from $45 – $175 (women) and $24.50 – $64.50 (men), while jewelry and accessory pieces range from $39.50 (jewelry) – $130 (tote).
