On a recent afternoon shopping trip, I did something that I haven’t done since I was in high school: I purchased a pair of ripped jeans. I thought I was done with the whole ripped jeans phase, but my inner lip gloss-loving, Britney Spears-listening, Abercrombie & Fitch-wearing teenager just couldn’t resist.
As I was purchasing them, I could hear my father in my ear: “Kendra, did you know your jeans are ripped?! I hope you kept the receipt so you can return them.” As a teenager, this was a joke that he would cite every time I wore distressed jeans. I’m already prepping myself for the return of the joke – my dad will be thrilled. My new rag & bone jeans have quickly become a weekend favourite, thanks to their versatile muted grey colour and comfortable stretch denim.
Another item that keeps making repeat appearances in my wardrobe is my Keltie Leanne Black Prince necklace. Simple and feminine, this hand-made necklace is made right here in Vancouver. Worn by itself, it’s elegant and refined; layer it with other necklaces (chunky chains, studded bibs, or other chain and charm pieces), and it ads instant edge.
