Thrift Store Score – Polka Dot Skirt and Black Leather Belt

Luckily, my latest thrift store score, a pleated polka dot skirt, has an elastic waistband. I found it at a local thrift store for $5.

As a thrift store hunter and gatherer, it has become second nature for me to collect, research, and find some of the best experiences, fashion, food, and treasures in the city.  When a friend told me about Savary Island Pie Company in West Vancouver, I grabbed my latest thrift store scores, made sure I had lots of room in my belly, and prepared myself for carbohydrate bliss.

Luckily, my latest thrift store score, a pleated polka dot skirt, has an elastic waistband.  I found it at a local thrift store for $5.  When I got up to the counter, I was informed that all clothing was 50% off; my new skirt cost me less than my latte.

To contrast this feminine skirt, I layered a thick black leather belt over it.  I found this split personality belt at Value Village for just $4.  The front is made out of a thick leather and features an internal and external closure, straps, and buckles.  The back of the belt is intricately braided, and balances out the masculine front.

To add a bit of texture and sparkle, I paired my breezy skirt with an elbow patch shirt from Zara.  The metallic stitching, combined with my pearly necklace from Old Navy, made me feel like I was shining inside and out.
